Bobby Mitchell

We are very proud that announce that Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 1983 member Bobby Mitchell has joined our family of Exclusive Appearance Athletes.

Mr. Mitchell was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1958 as a running back.  For the next 3 years he was teamed with Jim Brown forming one of the best backfields in the history of the game.

In 1962 Mr. Mitchell was traded to the Washington Redskins.  With this trade, Mr. Mitchell became the very first African American to sign and play with the team.  In Washington he was converted to his prefered position of flanker and lead the league in receptions that year.  Mr. Mitchell retired as a player in 1968 with 14,078 net yards, 91 touchdowns and 4 Pro Bowls.

After his retirement as a player, Mr. Mitchell moved to the front office of the Washington Redskins.  He started as a scout and eventually worked his way to Assistant General Manager.  Mr. Mitchell retired in 2003 from the team.

Mr. Mitchell is known for being very involved in the community.  From 1980 until 2012 Mr. Mitchell hosted a golf tournament for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  Mr. Mitchell also worked with many other local organizations giving back to the community.

Mr. Mitchell is enjoying his retirement and is very selective about any appearances.  If you wish to apply to have Mr. Mitchell attend an event, please use the contact link below with as much information as possible about the event.
